Pupil visit to Builders Merchants

As part of their Design and Technology lessons, pupils from Woodlands Academy visited local Builders Merchants, Huws Gray in Spilsby.

Dan, one of the Huws Gray team took time out of his busy day to speak with our pupils, discussing materials and costs for an upcoming project in school.

Pupils had the opportunity to look at lots of different materials, especially their internal and external timber, making functional use of their maths skills too during the visit, calculating sizes, lengths and quantities.

The class have been working to build up their creativity, problem solving, planning, and evaluation skills. They are now keen to get building!
