PUPILS TASTE THE FRUITS OF THEIR HARD WORK
After several months of tender care and watering, the pupils and staff at Woodlands have been tasting the fruits of their hard work!
As the garden slowly grows and develops, our Land-Based Studies pupils are helping grow a range of produce, which is used In the school kitchens.
All the vegetables and fruits are grown organically and the water used is harvested off the school roof.
The feedback at lunch was very exciting, with staff and pupils saying how fresh the salad leaves and cucumbers were, which had only been picked 2hrs earlier!
Over the next year, our level 2 pupils have exciting ideas to expand our growing potential, increasing the amount and range of fruits and vegetables grown and our approach to sustainability and healthy eating.
