SHE DID IT! ANN COMPLETES HER MOMENTOUS CHALLENGE TO SUPPORT WOODLANDS PUPILS
We reported last month about C.I.T.’s Director of Safeguarding & Wellbeing, Ann White, was tasking herself to take on the huge ‘Lake District Challenge’ – run, open water swim, and climb!
We are thrilled to report that Ann did indeed, complete her challenge on the weekend of Friday 13th through to Monday 16th May. She ran, swam, and climbed covering 44.02Km (27.3 miles) over the course of the weekend (not including the swimming!). She is amazing!!
Ann said:
“I thoroughly enjoyed the three open water swims the most. The water was freezing to say the least but it was really invigorating! I used the Wim Hof breathing technique, which really did work. The most challenging for me was the climbing, especially making it to the top and looking down on the most amazing views made it all worthwhile.”
The water temperature of Grasmere Lake was only 12 degrees brrr! We were worried to hear that Ann had a fall and thought she’d broken her arm but thankfully, it was her watch that was broken, no bones!
Even with a chest infection, Ann still managed to persevere and complete her challenge. Huge admiration and congrats to you Ann!
